After lighting the closed foot, the first draw of smoke passes through the icy soda water and filters across the palateāthe sweetness of caramel and toasted marshmallow comes through with striking clarity. The soda water has no sweetness of its own, so unlike cola, it doesn't clash with the cigar's sweetness; instead, it acts like a clean backdrop, setting off that creamy texture in the opening third. Then cedar and a faint pepper begin to emerge, and the bubbles of the ice-cold soda water burst gently on the tongue, tamping down the pepper's bite and leaving only the woody notes to linger in the nasal cavity.
Moving into the middle third, Marevas's sweet leather and earthy notes gradually build, with occasional hints of dark coffee bitterness surfacing. A sip of soda water at this pointāthe cool carbonation immediately interrupts the accumulation of bitterness, making the sweet leather of the next draw vivid again. This cigar is not low in strength, and slow, small draws are essential; the soda water lets you enjoy the transition from sweetness to leather at a more relaxed pace, without having to deliberately slow down for fear of bitterness.
By the final third, the soda water's role becomes more like a "reset"āwashing away the residual tar and bitterness in the mouth so that the occasional flashes of cinnamon or fruit in the tail aren't masked. It doesn't steal the show; it simply lets the cigar tell its own story to the end.
I really enjoy this cigar. Medium/full body, impeccable construction and burn, great smoke output, and really nice flavor! I love this cigar for a shorter smoke!
No better cigars out there at any price. The cigars Kyle produces are absolutely amazing. The flavors and aromas are unparalleled. They have a perfect draw and burn every time, which is a big factor in enjoying a fine cigar.
Delivery was perfect and the quality of the cigar far surpasses anything I've been able to buy at smoke shop for the same price point. 10/10 would recommend.
3 out of 5 of the Gellis cigars were wrapped to tight to draw properlyā¦.even after piercing through the middle the were not smokable . Very disappointing
I honestly thought I'd never smoke a "petite" cigar that is comparable to the Warped Corto, but these Marevas are amazing. Medium strength/medium plus body. A truly great petite corona.
